Chef Biography

In December of 1999, the Great Chefs team had landed in Ireland to tape all of the Great Chefs in Ireland.  They ventured out west to the famous Ashford Castle (where John Ford had filmed “The Quiet Man”) to tape Great Chef Dennis Lenihan, who at the time was the executive chef.  His sous chef was Michael Crowe, who was also taped creating a lobster and watercress salad for Great Chefs of the World, episode 220.

In the early 2000s, both Chefs Lenihan and Crowe left the Ashford Castle and bought a little hotel in Cong and opened the Crowe’s Nest Bar and Bistro.  Mike Crowe is still the chef and operating the property today in 2016.
