Chef Biography

Christopher Capstick was born and raised in Greenwich Village in New York City, and he began to cook at Chelsea Commons during high school.  He then worked up the kitchen ladder at Arizona 206 in New York, as well as two restaurants in Paris and at Food Arts Catering in New Orleans.

In 1988 he accepted the position as executive chef at The Old Inn on the Green in New Marlborough, Massachusetts.  In the fall of 1992, the Great Chefs television crew showed up at the The Old Inn to tape Chef Capstick for the Discovery Channel’s television series, Great Chefs of the East, in which he appeared in episodes 19 and 21.

He left The Old Inn on the Green in 2003, and is currently the Grill Room chef at the Knollwood Country Club in Elmsford, New York.
