Chef Biography

Eric Meunier was born in France in 1968 and graduated from the Technical School of Hotel and Catering Management in Grenoble, France in 1986.  He apprenticed as a cook for one year at Restaurant L’Ecureuil in Uriage, France and for two years as Chef de Partie at Restaurant le Vernay in Montferral, France.

In 1989, he was offered the position of Chef Tournant at the Wheatleigh Hotel in Lenox, Massachusetts.  In 1991, he was promoted to Pastry Chef.  In the fall of 1992, the Great Chefs television crew showed up at the Wheatleigh to tape Chef Meunier for the Discovery Channel’s television series, Great Chefs of the East, in which he appeared in episode #8.

He has returned to France to work as the Head Chef at a Hostel called the Inn of Big, in La-Chapelle-sous-Uchon.
