Chef Biography

Lisa Hanson studied at the Food Services Institute from 1982 to 1984, receiving her associate degree in culinary arts. In 1984, she went to work for Great Chef Kevin Graham at the Omni Royal Orleans, working her way up the kitchen ladder until 1989, when she followed Chef Graham to the Windsor Court Hotel in New Orleans, working her way as a line cook.

She left the Windsor Court to be chef at Bistro La Tour in the French Quarter in 1992. Shortly thereafter, the television crew of Great Chefs showed up to tape Chef Hanson for the Louisiana New Garde television series for the Discovery Channel.
