Chef Biography

Antonio Bras DaSilva was born in the city of Surubim, state of Pernambuco, Brazil.  After school, he began working in the kitchen of Bauducco, an industrial firm in São Paulo.  His mentor was a German pastry chef by the name of Joseph Hubert, and even though Chef Antonio didn’t eat sweets, he enjoyed seeing people happy eating his creations.

In 1994, Executive Chef Massimo Barletti brought him over to L’Hotel to work in the pastry shop.  By 1999, he was the executive pastry chef, when the television crew of Great Chefs showed up to tape him there for their Great Chefs of the World television series for the Discovery Channel.  He remains there today in 2016.
