Chef Biography

Karl Weiser was born in Vienna in 1951, and did his apprenticeship in a small pastry shop in his district.  By 1969, he was employed by the Hotel Imperial as Commis de Pâtisserie.  Four years later, he had climbed to Demi Chef de Pâtisserie and in 1985, the Hotel Imperial appointed him Chef de Pâtisserie.

In October of 1997, the Great Chefs television team showed up at the Hotel Imperial to tape Chef Weiser for two television series:  Great Chefs of the World for the Discovery Channel, and a 30- part series for Austrian Television’s ORF-TV called Great Chefs of Austria.

Today, in 2016, Chef Weiser celebrates his 47th year as Chef de Pâtisserie at the Hotel Imperial in Vienna.
