Chef Biography

Wolfgang Friedrich was born and raised in West Germany, and at an early age attended the Confectioner Master School in Wolfenbüettel, Germany.  He apprenticed in Garier and Steigenberger Hotels in Europe, working his way up the kitchen ladder within the Hilton International and ITT Sheraton properties in Greece and Thailand.

In 1970, he arrived at the Sheraton Washington in D.C. as executive pastry chef. In 1993, Great Chefs showed up to tape Chef Friedrich for Discovery Channel’s Great Chefs of the East television series.
