Chocolate Mousse
This is so simple — and so delicious! Melting the chocolate into the cream creates ganache, which is whipped, flavored with rum, and chilled. Pipe it into a pretty glass and it looks — and tastes — like you worked all day!
Ingredients
- Semi-sweet Chocolate - 5 to 6 ounces
- Heavy (whipping) cream - 1 cup
- Rum - 1 to 2 tablespoons
- Confectioner’s sugar for dusting
Instructions
Put the cream in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir in the chocolate until melted. Bring the mixture just to a boil, then remove from heat and let cool 1 hour. When room temperature, whip until stiff peaks form. Stir in the rum. Refrigerate overnight. Pipe into serving glasses. Dust with confectioner’s sugar and chocolate shavings.
