Chef Biography

Dawn Rose was born in 1961, raised in Brookline, Massachusetts, and received her culinary degree from Newbury College, also in Brookline.  Married to Chef Marc Rose, she climbed the culinary ladder in many of Boston’s finest hotels and restaurants before accepting an offer from Great Chef Todd English to work as pastry chef at his first Olives in Charlestown, Massachusetts.

In 1993, the Great Chefs television team showed up at Olives to tape Chef Dawn Rose for the Discovery Channel’s Great Chefs of the East series (episode # 12). She left Olives in 1994 to open her own restaurant with her husband, and later joined the Providence Restaurant in Brookline for several years.  That restaurant also recently closed.
