Chef Biography

Chef Ed Morris graduated from the food service program at North Seattle Community College in 1973 and went to work at the Poulsbo Inn at Puget Sound, Washington. Seven years later, he discovered that baking is what he really enjoyed, so he moved to Wailea, Maui to join the bakery staff at the Intercontinental Hotel. After a few years, he moved to Longhi’s Deli Pizzeria in Lahaina, Maui where he was responsible for all bakery operations. In 1985, Great Chef Gary Strehl brought him over as assistant pastry chef for the Maui Prince Hotel.  In 1987 he moved to Scottsdale, Arizona as pastry chef for the Princess Resort.

In 1990, the Prince Hotel Group offered him the position of executive pastry chef for their new Hawaii Prince Hotel in Waikiki. Four years later in 1994, the Great Chefs television team showed up to tape Chef Morris for the Discovery Channel’s Great Chefs of Hawaii television series.
