Chef Biography

Born in 1957, Gary Darling moved to Phoenix at the age of six, and was trained at William Annos’ Old Nogales Café.

In 1986, the Great Chefs television crew was taping a new PBS series called Great Chefs of the West, which included a “down home” southwestern section.  They taped Chef Darling at the Pointe Resort’s Aunt Chilada’s, preparing a dish called chimichangas, which appeared in episode #18.

Mr. Darling has retired from cooking and at last check in 2016, was in the real estate business in Phoenix.
