Chef Biography

Gerhard Mandl was born in 1967 in Gussing, Burgenland, Austria and apprenticed  at an early age at Göesser, in Graz, Austria. He then went on to work the kitchen ladder at Saalbach – Hinterglemm in Salzburg and in the kitchens of Austrian Airlines.  

In 1996, he joined the Schlor Obermayerhofen as sous chef under Great Chef Peter Rieberer. Two years later, in May of 1998, the Great Chefs television crew showed up to tape Chef Mandl for their Great Chefs of the World television series on the Discovery Channel and for the Great Chefs of Austria series for ORF TV.

In 2006, Chef Mandl was promoted to executive chef, where he remains today in 2016.
