Chef Biography

Hugo Zevallos was born in Lima, Peru.  He immigrated to Argentina and became a dishwasher in different restaurants in Buenos Aires.  In 1994, as he was working his way up the kitchen ladder, he joined Pablo Massey at Restaurant Massey.  In 1999, he was the pastry chef at Massey’s when the Great Chefs television crew showed up to tape Chef Massey and Maximo Lopez.  Chef Zevallos prepared a Patagonia Red Fruit Tart for their Great Chefs of the World series (episode # 237), for the Discovery Channel.

After Massey’s closed, Chef Zevallos opened his own restaurant, The Remington, that features Peruvian cuisine.
