Chef Biography

Herbert Danzer was born in Austria in 1968, and trained at the Hotel-Restaurant Forellenhof from 1983 to 1987. He apprenticed at Schlafwagen and Touistikgesellschaft from 1988 to 1990, and then he joined the catering company of DO&CO in Vienna. He worked at two different restaurants in Vienna in 1992 and 1993, (Weißen Rössel and Scampi) before rejoining DO&CO in Vienna in 1993.

In October of 1997, the Great Chefs Television team arrived in DO&CO’s Vienna headquarters to tape Chef Danzer for ORF-TV’s Great Chefs of Austria series, and also Discovery Channel’s Great Chefs of the World television series (episodes 223 and 236).  By that time, Chef Danzer had become corporate chef for DO&CO.

Chef Danzer is still at DO&CO today.  DO&CO caters Austrian Airlines, as well as Austria’s railroads and casinos.  Last year, in 2015, they formed a joint company with Nestlé to operate all of their Nespresso Cafés.
